Kernel Hearts launches on September 17, 2026. That date is the one Ephemera Games and Whitethorn Games put on the August 17, 2026 trailer and press release. It is a simultaneous-style rollout: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Third-party store aggregators listed Epic around $19.99 USD during the pre-purchase window (regional SKUs differ; GBP and SGD figures have shown up on Epic pages). Epic pre-purchase: Fernet in Fortnite
From August 17, 2026, pre-purchasing Kernel Hearts on the Epic Games Store with the same Epic account used for Fortnite grants the Fernet Outfit. During the pre-purchase window that was the only path to the cosmetic. The offer continues when the game becomes purchasable on September 17. The outfit is also scheduled for the Fortnite Item Shop on September 26, 2026 (8:00 p.m. ET per the press release).
Ephemera is the first Argentinian / Latin American studio in that Epic-to-Fortnite gift program. Fun trivia. It does not change Fernet’s saber kit.
If you only play Steam or console, you can skip the outfit and lose nothing in Babel.

Steam lists a wide localization set (English with full audio, plus French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Latin American Spanish). Japanese voice-over was added to the demo in August; start a New Game to hear it. This fan wiki is English, French, German, and Spanish — see the language button. We skip Simplified Chinese and Russian on purpose.
What launch contains that the demo does not
Director note: demo 2 floors, full game around 7 Heavens. Expect a longer curse curve, denser chip economy, more of Babel’s bonds, and whatever sits at the top of the Tower. Do not expect a different genre. Getting Started still applies.
