Kernel Hearts is a co-op action RPG roguelike from Ephemera Games and Whitethorn Games. You play android magical girls in the M.A.H.O.U. Unit, climbing the Tower of Babel to cut down angels and unseat a god while ash buries the last city. Each death dumps you back to a lab backup; chips on MAHOU.OS stay. Ephemera Games and Whitethorn Games set a worldwide date of **September 17, 2026** for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam and Epic). See the release date page for platforms, the Fernet Fortnite outfit, and what the demo does not include.

Is there a demo?

Yes. A free demo is playable on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It covers a short climb (about two floors versus roughly seven in the full game), with Fernet unlocked immediately and Spika earnable. Use the demo walkthrough.

Is Kernel Hearts co-op?

Yes. You can climb solo or with **up to three allies** (four players total) in online co-op. Local split-screen is not the advertised mode. Read the co-op guide for hosting, pings, and revive habits.
